CARDIFF, Wales (AP) — Veteran flanker Martyn Williams was left out of Wales' provisional 28-man squad for the Six Nations.
Cardiff Blues teammate Sam Warburton and Scarlets back-row forward Josh Turnbull were preferred to the 35-year-old Williams, who has won 98 caps since making his test debut in 1996.
Turnbull was one of five uncapped players called up by Wales coach Warren Gatland on Sunday, with forwards Ryan Bevington, Scott Andrews and Toby Faletau and flyhalf Rhys Priestland also named.
